Zac Efron’s Brother Dylan Efron Joins Traitors Season 3: What to Know

Traitorswhich premiered in January 2025, brought together reality TV stars from various franchises as they competed in a mafia-style game for up to $250,000. Despite appearing to be a natural in front of the camera, Dylan previously admitted he wasn’t sure he wanted to follow following in his brother’s acting footsteps.

“I was behind the camera. But being able to not stay behind the scenes was a really nice change,” Dylan exclusively said My Weekly in September 2023 about his plans to try something new. “So I think if I can wear all those hats and still create the stories that I want to tell (that would be great). To be able to experience that for myself is really nice. It’s a good mix of both worlds.”

While Zac became famous after that landing a large amount of TV and film roles, Dylan enjoyed playing a minor role behind the scenes. His transition to taking part in the competition show came after Dylan previously admitted that he wasn’t trying to pretend to be someone he wasn’t.

“I could never do what Zac does. I play myself in front of the camera while Zac plays the characters. They are two different skill sets,” he added at the time. “He can play different characters and I can only play myself.

What does Dylan actually do?

At the request of Wells Adams during Traitors Season 3 premiere, Dylan said he is best known for his work on “social media”. But Dylan left a lasting impression online through kindness his sweet bond with his brother Zac and his work in the entertainment industry.

Dylan began as a physical production coordinator for films such as Jersey Boys, American Sniper, Get Hard and Accountant. From there, Dylan became an assistant Unforgettable, Ready Player One and A star is born. His most recent job was performing stunts on a Disney+ show The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.

How does Dylan’s family fit into the equation?

The brother’s parents were married for almost two decades before calling it quits in 2016. “Honestly, my little sister is the sweetest. He doesn’t have favorites, so we rather play with each other. But every time we see her – I can’t say enough about her. And then Henry,” Dylan continued at the time. “He’s just getting to the age where he’s (developing his) personality. So it’s hard to really choose between them. I see myself so much in Henry and then (in) Olivia, I see Zac. She will probably become an actress (because) she has such a big personality. Henry is a little athlete.”

Does Dylan have reality TV experience?

While Dylan worked mainly on scripted projectswas a producer at Netflix Down to Earthwhich followed Zac as he traveled around the world highlighting different life experiences, cultures, culinary ventures as well as green energy and sustainable lifestyles.

“I like doing things with my brother. It’s really comforting to be with family (and) do these things. That will always be at the top of what I like to do. But I think it’s good that we do things separately as well,” Dylan exclusively said Our in September 2023. “Because I remember a long time ago we wanted to do a show together and I really wouldn’t be ready for it. He was in front of the camera all his life and it was second nature to him. I was a shy little kid, so I had to grow into it.’

Dylan said he would excited to work with Zac on the project again in the future. “Now would be the right time,” he said. “We are still thinking (about what to do). We are in the process of thinking. We really want to take a step back and look at what stories we want to tell, how we can do that and enjoy ourselves. We want to keep comparing it.”

Dylan also worked to tell his own stories with a 2023 three-part YouTube series about California surf culture.

What skills does Dylan bring?

Over the years, Dylan has documented his interest in surfing, skateboarding, kayaking, and running.

“Something I got out of quickly was speed flying, where you run off a cliff with a parachute and then go really fast. I wanted to do it, and once I did, I quickly walked away from it. It’s really scary,” he revealed Our in 2023. “If I were to go back to it, I would go back to normal skydiving and stay away from it.”

He continued: “Especially when I’m on the road a lot, I don’t try to lift heavy weights. I just want to use my muscles and stretch and try to keep my body flexible. I don’t want to kill myself using heavy weights so I just make sure I use everything. When you get into trouble is when you get into the habit of sitting all day and then you don’t use your body at all.”

What does Zac think of Dylan’s chances in Traitors?

Before his time in Scotland aired on the Peacock, Zac showed his support for Dylan’s latest venture. “I think Dylan is going to win,” Zac told E! News June 2024. “I hope so because he’s so good at games. He always was, ever since childhood. He is like a master of the game. … If anyone can do this, it’s him. I’m rooting for him.”
