Saturday Night Live enlisted a slew of Hollywood A-listers to host episodes of its 50th season.
Jean Smart started the season in September, becoming SNL debut alongside a musical guest Jelly Roll.
“I can’t tell you how honored I am to host the premiere episode of Season 50,” he said Hacks the star gushed in her opening monologue. “It’s really incredible to be here. I didn’t get dressed and in a few days hundreds of people were applauding me.’
She added: “I remember watching the very first episode SNL and he thought, ‘I’m going to host the show one day.’ And this was the first Saturday that worked with my schedule, but it’s great to be here in New York.”
Saturday Night Live finished Season 49 and kicked off its signature Season 50 in 2024, bringing plenty of viral cameos and sketches along the way. Jean Smart: Episode 1

Nate Bargatze: Episode 2

Ariana Grande: Episode 3
Grande was joined by a musical guest Stevie Nicks.
“Before I start, I want to make one thing clear tonight: I’m just hosting,” Grande said in her monologue. “I’m not going to make it about myself. I’m just having fun, take it easy and I’ll keep it quiet.”
Michael Keaton: Episode 4
Keaton hosted for the fourth time on October 19 as Billie Eilish served as musical guest.
“You know, when the show first premiered in 1975, I was working in Pittsburgh on a completely different show,” Keaton said in his monologue. “I was a PA Mister Roger’s Neighborhood at WQED and actually in the 1970s SNL and Mister Roger had a lot more similarities than you might think. Lots of puppets, tons of cocaine (and) anyway, Fred was a great guy. He’s everything you thought he was.”

John Mulaney: Episode 6
At Mulaney’s Monologue from November 12he raved about life with his then six-month-old daughter Méa and his wife Olivia Munn. Later in the episode, he reunites with a friend (and former cast member) Pete Davidson for musical sketch about the dangers of the NYC Port Authority Bus Terminal.
Charli XCX: Episode 7
Charli pulled double duty on November 16, serving as host and musical guest. Her pièce de résistance included a sequel to Grande’s “Domingo,” but set to “Hot to Go”. Fans were particularly excited that “Hot to Go” contains the same number of letters as “Domingo”, making the spelling part of the song work perfectly.
Paul Mescal: Episode 8
Mescal paid tribute to his film Gladiator II with an SNL forgery in the December 7 episode, in which he sang in a fictional music trailer. He also rode a broom like Cynthia Erivo in Evil. (Gladiator II and Evil in theaters on the same day in late November.)
Chris Rock: Episode 9
Rock, an SNL veterinary, returned to host the show December 14th. In the “Gallbladder Operation” sketch, he reunited with Adam Sandler and they couldn’t stop laughing when Sandler splashed Rock and the cast with fake blood.
Martin Short: Episode 10
The former cast member returns to host the holiday show on December 21, along with a musical guest Hozier.
Dave Chappelle: Episode 11
The comedian returned for the fourth time alongside the performer GloRilla.
