Haney meets with Turki Al-Shiekh: Possible fight in Riyadh season

Turki Al-Shiekh posted a photo of himself with Devin Haney and his father, Bill Haney, today at their reunion. Haney will meet with Turki to discuss the possibility of him fighting on one of his Riyadh season cards.

Devin (31-0, 15 KOs) says he already received an offer from BLK Prime to fight in March, but he wants to see what Turki has in store for him. It’s unclear what kind of money Haney expects to receive for what will likely be a tune-up fight to help him regain his confidence after his loss to Ryan Garcia.

“Equal playing field”

During an interview with reporters today in London, Haney talked about wanting to “fight the best” and said he just wants “a level playing field.” He claims he is going to “clean up the sport.” Much of the focus of Devin’s interview was on him. trying to cover up your loss at Ryan, blaming him for having been “deceived” by him.

Well, if Turki offers Haney an opponent with some pop in his punches for his next season card in Riyadh, the rematch with Ryan Garcia will fizzle out and be as pointless as the losers’ battle between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua . ‘ struggle. Ryan Garcia did a number on Haney, timing him last April and beating him in daylight over 12 rounds.

Everything will be fine if Turki offers Devin a tomato can no power and only a few marbles spinning around in his head. Haney can beat that type of person, but anyone else would put him at risk of being defeated again.

“Just because I got cheated in a fight doesn’t mean I’m going to change my mind. I still feel the same. “I still feel like I’m the best fighter in the world,” Devin Haney told the media on Friday in London, trying to cheer himself up by barking instead of fighting artificially. “I think on equal terms I can beat all these guys.

“I still have no news about my next opponent. We were looking at some guys, but His Excellency (Turki Al-Shiekh) called me to meet him. That’s why I’m here with him. We’ll see. Hopefully we can get something.

“It is a possibility. BLK Prime has a chance for me in March. They offered me something, but now His Excellency has summoned me to a meeting to fight. So we’ll see if we can fix something while I’m here,” Haney said.

Looking for an easy fight?

If Turki wants Haney to fight a live body on one of his Riyadh cards, he’ll bury his rematch with Garcia in the mud. Haney will lose and his career will fizzle out. Haney is not capable of beating top level fighters at 135, 140 or 147.

You put him with the best fighters in any of those weight classes and he will lose. I mean, real top-level fighters, not George Kambosos or Regis Prograis. I’m talking about quality fighters like Gervonta Davis, Jaron Ennis, Richardson Hitchins, Alberto Puello and José ‘Rayo’ Valenzuela.

Devin is still trying to use Ryan’s positive test for trace levels of Ostarine as the reason for his loss last April, but fans aren’t buying it. They saw Haney get whipped and don’t believe his Ostarine excuse.

They saw him getting hit with left hooks all night and being saved by the referee in the seventh with his timely point deduction to Garcia for hitting on the counterattack. The point deduction had no prior warning to Ryan.
