The announced cast, which Peacock shared last June, arrived on their second mission to find three new players suspended above them in cages. There was one Rob “Boston Rob” Marianowho they chose not to invite into the game during the premiere episode.
The other two were completely unexpected reality TV titans: The Three-Time Winner Call, Wes Bergmanand Big Brother 16 winner Derrick Levasseur.
Those who knew Wes and Derrick, both 40, reacted with a predictable mix of excitement and apprehension as they let two masterminds into the game, while others clearly had no idea what either was capable of.
Survivor has yet to do a Faithfuls vs. Traitors, but this season of The Traitors might be an adequate replacement. Widely regarded as one of the greatest Big brother players all time Big Brother 16 the winner has the social ability to be a mastermind without ever coming across as a threat. On Big brotherhe is recognized for his strategy and derided by some for “ruining” the game by showing future players how to dominate from start to finish.
In his season Big brotherDerrick soon formed a majority alliance with major competing threats, ensuring that his side would almost always be in power. As a result, he was never ready for eviction and came away victorious. Some argue that Derrick had an easy path to victory due to the relatively low skill level of his competitors, but the season also featured two future winners – former Traitors contestant Cody Califiore and Nicole Franzel — as well as Frankie Grandewho is considered by some to be one of the most underrated players ever.
Another key for Derrick, both on Big brother and Traitors: He is a former secret police officer. He hid it from his roommates BB16but several players already know him Traitorsit’s only a matter of time before the rest of the cast picks up on his ability to deceive, read and react.
