Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn is concerned that Tyson Fury will decide not to fight again after losing to Oleksandr Usyk three weeks ago.
‘The Gypsy King’ has no doubt been furious at his second loss to the talented Ukrainian, salty at what he believes was another robbery.
Fury has already made a huge amount of money, sitting like a king on a huge fortune estimated at $160 million slaps. He doesn’t need the extra money that two fights against Joshua would give him. Tyson can freeze out AJ, Hearn and the fans just for the fun of it.
Regardless, the boxing public sees Joshua-Fury as past twos and would be seen as greedy if they fought now. The public would be excited to see this match if the fight had happened a few years ago.
Now, they are two broken old Brits, both filthy rich beyond what anyone could dream of, looking to add to their enormous J. Pablo Getty style fortunes.
“Tyson Fury is the fight he wants,” Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports Boxing on Anthony Joshua wanting to fight Tyson Fury in 2025. “The real key in this is Tyson Fury. He is three weeks away from a defeat. He’s probably still upset and probably still reflecting on that loss. We have to see if he wants to fight again, and if he wants to fight again, what else can Fury do?
Hearn looked like a worried ice cream salesman at the Ring Awards, talking about the Fury-Joshua fight. It would be better if Turki Al-Shiekh decides to make AJ and Tyson earn this fight by insisting that they take these fights first to prove that they still have it:
If Joshua and Fury pass these tests, it would make sense for Turki to pull the trigger on this fight. At least the fans could respect that.
