How to turn off notification summaries powered by Apple Intelligence


With iOS 18Apple is out Apple Intelligenceincludes an AI-powered feature to summarize notifications. When you receive a bunch of notifications from an app, the feature summarizes the content of all notifications in a card that appears on the lock screen. After reading the summary, you can leave the stack or click on it to check individual notifications.

However, the feature is not always accurate. Sometimes it turns out that way funny resultsand other times fail to properly summarize the content of the notices and include apparent inaccuracies. If you find notification summaries more confusing than helpful, you can turn them off or customize them.

On iPhone/iPad

Go to Settings > Notifications and tap the Summary Notifications tab. There are two options: You can turn off AI-powered notification summaries for all apps by toggling the Summarize Notifications option above, or you can turn off notifications on a per-app basis.

on a Mac

Click the Apple menu in the upper left corner and go to System Settings > Notifications. Click the Summarize Notifications tab, then turn off Summarize Notifications. Like the iPhone/iPad settings options, you can turn off notification summaries for selected apps.

There’s no way to turn off notification summaries for a specific category of apps like news, productivity, utilities, shopping, travel, and finance.

“Apple” announced that it will publish the company in January app update to better show that notification summaries are generated by AI and there may be some errors.
