Oppenheim’s remarks come after California authorities warned business owners against illegally raising prices on items by more than 10% above the costs that existed before the fire broke out.
The comments also come after Oppenheim announced on Thursday, January 9 that his company is donation of services to displaced residents as a result of the fires. “If you lost your home in the Los Angeles fires and need to find a place to rent until your home is rebuilt, all Oppenheim Group agents will represent you free of charge or credit you with any commission we receive on the transaction.” Oppenheim wrote in an Instagram post that day. “Please contact us at office@ogroup.com.”
The star also spread the initiative in the video. “I woke up this morning and many friends and clients have reached out to me because they’ve lost their homes in the last few days and now need housing assistance,” Oppenheim said. “Their families are being displaced and of course as real estate agents we have an obligation to help them find a place – although it will be difficult because thousands of people (are) looking for places and (there aren’t) nearly as many houses available.”

At the time of publication, Associated Press reported that 24 people have died as a result of the LA wildfires that broke out in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood and surrounding Los Angeles last week. The portal said at least 16 people were missing, with authorities warning that “the number is expected to rise”.
