During an appearance on “Call Her Daddy,” Perry told the host Alex Cooper why she and Bloom broke up in 2017.
“We weren’t into it from day one,” the singer admitted. “In a way, he was because he had just gone through a period of celibacy and had set intentions. I was fresh out of a relationship and I was like, ‘I can’t do this anymore. I need to swim in another pond.”
While Perry “still did a lot of work on herself,” Bloom went on a week-long retreat “to reintroduce all (his) bad habits. When he returned, the duo were not on the same page.
“He went there and then he came back and he didn’t play this cat and mouse game with me anymore,” Perry recalled. “And I was like, ‘Hmm.’ I was so used to the push-pull thing. … I played games because it was a dopamine hit. That was what I knew.”
Perry later decided to go into the retreat alone and found that she was then “speaking the same language” as Bloom.
“It changed my life, it saved my life,” she said.
Elsewhere in the interview, Perry shared that nothing turns her on like Bloom doing chores.
“If I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean and you’ve washed all the dishes and closed all the pantry doors, you should be ready to have your dk vacuumed,” she joked. “It is.” my love language! I don’t need a red Ferrari… I can buy a red Ferrari. Just wash the f-king dishes! I will suck your d–k! It’s so easy!”
