Sydney Thomasring girl that became viral during and Jake Paul–Mike Tyson fight on Netflix revealed that a prominent college football coach recently slipped into her DMs.
During the performance at “Like A Farmer Podcast” on Sunday January 12, Thomas, 21, was asked to name the ‘biggest celebrity’ to reach out for a boxing match in November 2024.
“I have some names, I just don’t know that I want to reveal them,” Thomas said with a laugh.
Podcast host Pat Spinosa encouraging Thomas to be honest, saying, “It’s not a bad thing, maybe they just reached out and said hello.”
Thomas ultimately refused to answer, so she was asked to at least reveal the “craziest DM” she received since the match.
“We’ll just say this,” said Thomas, currently a student at the University of Alabama. “It was from another SEC football coach. They just wrote ‘Roll Tide’ to me.”
“Roll Tide” is a rallying cry used by Alabama fans, a reference to the school’s nickname, the Crimson Tide. The SEC stands for the Southeastern Conference, an athletic conference that is home to Alabama and schools like Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma and LSU.
“I’m not going to say what kind of coach he was, but at least they’re an Alabama fan now,” Thomas added. “We’ll let everyone else find out who it was.
IN exclusive interview with My Weekly shortly after the fight, Thomas suggested that some celebrities had already tried to shoot their shot with the college student.
“My DMs are crazy flooded right now,” Thomas said in November. “There were definitely some pretty big names and brands that reached out.
While Thomas said she didn’t want to release any of the names for “privacy reasons,” she joked that “the DMs and everyone else are freaking out right now.”
When she woke up the morning after the fight, Thomas said she immediately knew her life had changed dramatically.
“I woke up and saw my followers going up, and then I saw all the news articles that were written about me,” Thomas told us. “I restored my feed and it was just my pictures and memes and everything. I think that was the moment for me where I was like, ‘Oh my god, like I’m really going viral’.”
Thomas added: “It’s very overwhelming. But at the same time, I’m also very blessed and very grateful. You know what the ‘problem’ is.”
The college student, who plans to graduate in the spring of 2025 with a degree in management and entrepreneurship, has been proactive in making the most of her viral fame.
In December 2024, Thomas signed with CAA Sportsa talent agency that represents athletes including an MLB star Shohei OhtaniNBA star Devin BookerNHL star Sidney Crosby and a WNBA star Cameron Brink.
