Haney-Garcia Lawsuit Halts as Rematch Negotiations Progress

ESPN reports that Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney have agreed to suspend their lawsuit for 90 days. They have reached an agreement to abandon it.

The two fighters are reaching an agreement to fight later this year, and dropping the legal dispute will pave the way for the fight.

Suspended lawsuit

The agreement allows the lawsuit to be resolved, but it must be finalized. Once completed, the lawsuit will be dismissed. Ryan said that was the condition for negotiating a rematch with Haney.

Turki Al-Sheikh wants this revenge. Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) filed suit after testing positive for the banned substance, Ostarine, following his victory over Devin on April 20.

García will take interim fight

Ryan revealed today that he has a mystery opponent for his next fight and that he “can’t wait” for fans to find out who it is. That’s not Haney. There isn’t a high level of interest in a second fight between them after how Ryan eliminated him last April.

I wouldn’t fight him again unless he dropped the lawsuit. It makes sense for Haney because he would probably get more money fighting Ryan again than he would from the lawsuit. Without a rematch, Haney would be stuck fighting other fighters for less money and a lot of risk.

Haney is not a big puncher, and his career prospects are not promising at 140 or 147. He initially did well moving up to light welterweight, again an old Regis Prograis, but it would be more difficult for him to fight other fighters than they still are. at his best and can hit.

That’s why he must get revenge with Ryan. Even if your career falls apart immediately afterward, you’ll have that big payday to live off of for the rest of your life.

Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia jointly asked the court Wednesday to stay proceedings for 90 days surrounding the lawsuit against Garcia due to a tentative settlement, according to a legal document obtained by ESPN.

This development comes as Haney and Garcia are nearing a deal to…
