President Yoon addresses nation before arrest

In a video message to the nation before his arrest, President Yoon Suk Yeol said he had agreed to appear before the Corruption Investigation Office (CIO) for questioning. “I decided to report to the CIO, even though this is an illegal investigation, to avoid any unpleasant bloodshed,” Yoon explained. He is being investigated on charges of insurrection after a brief attempt to impose martial law in December.
