Anduril will build a billion-dollar weapons megafactory in Ohio

Anduril announced on Thursday that it is building a huge weapons factory called Arsenal-1 Columbus, OhioIt confirms an earlier report by TechCrunch. In a blog postthe company said that it will invest about 1 billion dollars of its own money in the project and the factory will be five million square meters. The article also claims it will bring 4,000 jobs to the region.

It is a big step for the factory defense technology startup, Founded by Palmer Luckey, Trae Stephens and othersallowing it to expand production of autonomous systems for control and weapons.

Part of Ohio State’s appeal was its proximity to Rickenbacker Airport, where the company would have access to a 12,000-foot runway, as well as ample land, as the company would have 500 acres nearby for potential expansion.
