British actor and Love Island star Paul Danan has died aged 46

British actor and reality star Pavel Danan died at the age of 46.

Danan representatives confirmed the news in writing on Thursday, January 16 Instagram“It is with a heavy heart that we share the tragic news of Paul Danan’s passing at the age of just 46. Known for his television presence, exceptional talent and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to many. His untimely passing will leave an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who knew him.”

Cause of death were not disclosed in a statement by Independent Creative Management. “We kindly ask for respect and privacy for Paul’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time. There will be no further comment at this time,” the post concluded.

“Paul Danan… my friend… I am so shocked and heartbroken… my darling… I will cherish all our happy memories,” she wrote on Instagram. “RIP you are a beautiful amazing talented person.”

Michael Grecoknown for his role in the BBC soap opera EastEnderstook to X with his own message. “So sad to read of Paul Danan’s passing. In this day and age of fakes and fake people, he was a genuine and caring man who just wanted to please everyone,” he wrote. “A beautiful warm man who will be missed by many. RIP Buddy.”

Danan became a star when he played Sol Patrick Hollyoaks from 1997 to 2001. He also appeared in British children’s shows Queen’s nose and Show Basil Brush Show before being cast in the medical drama Victim.

After achieving success with scripted projects, Danan became part of a reality television show in Great Britain Appeared on Come to dinner with me, Celebrity Love Island and Celebrity Big Brother. He is survived by his 8-year-old son Deniro.

Less than a year before his death, Danan he was hospitalized for respiratory failure in June 2024. He told the UK Sun at the time he spent a week in intensive care due to his vaping addiction.

“I’m upstairs and I’m huffing and puffing, then all of a sudden I lose my breath and collapse,” he recalled. “My family called an ambulance and started CPR, then the police came and took me over before paramedics took me to hospital. I was on the machine in (the) ICU and ended up with pneumonia. My family was warned that I might not make it through the night. I’m so lucky.”

Danan’s doctorit was so, so rough” after a health scare. “She said to me, ‘Paul, you don’t know how serious it was and now you’re going to be here on this oxygen for a while’,” he added. “She said that if I ever smoke in any form again, I risk being connected to an oxygen tank later in life. She said it’s now.”

Danano’s last post on social media before his death was an audition tape for the role of Duke Orsino Twelfth Night.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve come close to the Master that is our pioneer Sir William Shakespeare,” he captioned a video earlier this month. “You forget what a genius he really was and you remember how beautiful and exciting it is when you engage with his work. It’s an amazing experience! Sometimes I forget how much I need to be woken up.”
