Johnson and D’Angelo tied the knot in 2005. After four years of marriage, the couple split in 2009. Johnson and D’Angelo finalized their divorce a year later.

The NFL alum continued with Simpson — he he asked the question in 2010 after six months of dating. “He knocked on the door of my dream cabin (sigh) I let him in and never let him leave,” Simpson wrote via Instagram in 2020, noting that she “fell head over heels in love” that day.

Before walking down the aisle, the couple welcomed daughter Maxwell in 2012 and son Ace in 2013. They tied the knot in 2014 and welcomed daughter Birdie in 2019.

Simpson announced in 2025 that she and Johnson had broke up. “Eric and I they lived separately dealing with a painful situation in our marriage,” she said in a statement My Weekly. “Our children come first and we focus on what is best for them. We are grateful for all the love and support coming our way and appreciate our privacy right now as we deal with this as a family.”

Johnson met Simpson while he was still legally married to D’Angelo. In 2010, he popped the question to Simpson.

2011

The couple’s split made headlines in 2011 when D’Angelo’s friend claimed Johnson had been unfaithful. Star magazine that he was a “twice fraud”.

“He was still having sex with Keri after he started seeing Jessica,” the friend claimed Daily Mail. “She needs to think twice before marrying him. He’s already cheated on her once – he’s most likely going to do it again.” Simpson’s rep denied the allegations at the time Daily Mail.
