Maxton Hall’s Harriet deals with the state of her relationship with Costar Damian

After months of speculation, Maxton Hall‘with Harriet Herbig-Matten finally revealed whether she’s dating her co-star — and on-screen love interest — Damian Hardung.

During the Thursday, January 15, episode “G Spot” podcast.Herbig-Matten, 21, was asked about fan rumors involving her and Hardung, 26, to which she replied: “It’s been hard. We are not together and never were.”

The German actress said that she is not ready for questions about her personal life after Maxton Hallovernight success.

“It was a crazy experience and it’s also clearly such a love story (on the show) and you promote that. But I think I really underestimated it and I think I was a little naive too,” she admitted. “Because I didn’t really know where it was going.

When Maxton Hall premiering May 2024, Herbig-Matten they didn’t realize how the audience would latch on to her off-screen bond with Hardung, adding, “I also didn’t know how big it was going to be. I didn’t know that people believed in it so much and that it was such a thing.’

Frustrating aspect were strangers online esteemed in Herbig-Matten and Hardung dynamics.

“When you always read those comments about how we’re so together, I started getting pressure that it must be true.” So I thought, ‘Only if that’s the case, I’ll do justice to the people and then they’ll be happy,'” she explained. “I thought that for a long time. Then over time I had to learn to distance myself from that version.”

Herbig-Matten continued, “There’s Ruby and there’s Harriet who gets promoted. So you know that this person who is me and has my name is not the real Harriet that I am in my private life. First I had to learn that it wasn’t true, and that was hard.”

Hardung and Herbig-Matten were catapulted to stardom when Maxton Hall achieved record-breaking success by being the most-watched non-US title on Prime Video in its first week. It was renewed for a second season a week after its debut.

In the middle of the series is the unlikely enemy of a lover’s romance between Ruby (Herbig-Matten) and James (Hardung). The costars previously revealed that their off-screen dynamic mirrored their characters.

“I think at our first audition, he came into the room wearing this suit and I was like, ‘Who’s that arrogant boy over there?’ But at our second and final audition, it just clicked and we had tension,” Herbig-Matten exclusively said My Weekly in June 2024. “So we had chemistry, we just didn’t see it.”

Hardung, meanwhile, he recalled building trust with Herbig-Matten over time.

“We had a very interesting dynamic while filming. Because we were literally going through everything that the characters were going through,” shared s Our the same month. “Whenever we knew we were going to have a shoot the next day where we hated each other, we literally didn’t talk to each other the night before.” If we’d known we’d be best friends the next day, we’d have gone out to dinner together.”

So Herbig-Matten reflects on “intense emotions” which came with her “first acting love story”.

“And like I said, it was really easy with me and Damian,” she said Our. “We are two different people, we are good friends and we have a good relationship. It’s really important to treat your relationship (well) but set boundaries just like an actress and an actor.”

Hardung breached the undertaking entered into in the display James and Ruby’s relationshipand he said, “The chemistry, you have to feel it. It’s really just about taking every emotion seriously. You have to be honest about those emotions and I like that.”
