Nvidia is releasing three new NIM microservices, or small standalone services that are part of larger applications, to help enterprises bring additional control and security measures to their AI agents.
One of these new NIM services targets content security and works to prevent an AI agent from generating harmful or biased results. Another works to focus conversations only on approved topics, while a third new service helps prevent jailbreak attempts by an AI agent or bypass software restrictions.
These are part of three new NIM microservices Nvidia NeMo protectorsNvidia’s existing collection of open source software tools and microservices was designed to help companies improve their AI applications.
“By deploying multiple lightweight, specialized models as guardrails, developers can cover gaps that would only occur if more general global policies and protections were in place – because a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t adequately enable and manage complex agent AI workflows,” the press release he said.
It seems that AI companies are starting to realize that getting enterprises to adopt AI agent technology won’t be as simple as they first thought. A recent study by Deloitte predicted About 25% of enterprises either already use AI agents or expect to do so in 2025. Nvidia probably hopes that initiatives like this will make the adoption of AI agents safer and less experimental. Time will tell if this is actually true.
