Since officially retiring from the NFL in June 2022, Rob Gronkowski he’s still figuring out what work-life balance looks like in a post-football world.
Gronkowski, 35, who now works as an analyst for Fox Sports after 11 seasons with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, remains remarkably busy — which makes keeping his calendar up-to-date quite a task.
“The part that I have to really master and eliminate is the travel,” said Gronkowski, who spoke exclusively My Weekly through his partnership with Bounty. “There is a lot of travel in my new era. I have an event in one city and then I have an event in another city. Gotta go to LA and do (Fox NFL kickoff) every Sunday. So you learn tricks to manage travel without getting too beat up.”
Gronkowski explained, “I’m very good at sleeping on airplanes. I try to relax on the plane whenever possible. It’s an advantage. It’s kind of like time travel. If you fall asleep and wake up in the next town over, you’re like, ‘Wow, that’s amazing.'”
With his hectic work and travel schedule, Gronkowski noted that it makes his free time even more special and sacred.
“I love days off,” Gronkowski said. “I make sure I have a few days off – at least five to seven days a month – because I love being in a routine of exercise and self-care.
When it comes to his ideal way to spend a day off, Gronkowski said it boils down to simplicity.
“I get to work out, I go for a run, I get to walk my dog, I get to talk to my girlfriend, all that good stuff,” Gronkowski explained.
The former soccer star is dating his model girlfriend Kamila Kostkovásince 2015. Gronkowski and Kostek, 32, met when she was a New England Patriots cheerleader and he slipped her his number at a charity event.
The couple share a French bulldog by name Ralphie Gronkowskiwho has your own Instagram account with over 54,000 followers.
Gronkowski’s television duties are currently in full swing with the NFL playoffs in full swing, which will include a trip to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX in February. While in the Big Easy, former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will be Gronkowski’s guide as part of the Bounty’s Wingman campaign.
“Gronk called me and said, ‘Hey, do you want to be my wing for the Super Bowl in New Orleans?’ I think the answer is obviously yes,” Brees, 46, told us exclusively. “I can’t wait to show this guy around, show him some southern hospitality. He’s used to buffalo wings being a Buffalo, New York, guy. But we’re going to add some Cajun spice to those wings. It awaits him.”
Gronkowski and Brees will be on site in New Orleans at Super Bowl LIX’s Radio Row in preparation for the game at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, in addition to sampling the best the city has to offer.
“Who better to call than Mr. New Orleans himself?” Gronkowski said of Brees. “He’s the mayor of the whole town. We’ll be out in restaurants, eating wings and making a mess.”
