It’s the first season now, but hopefully not the last season Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew it’s in the bookstime to talk spoilers. Creators and showmen Jon Watts and Christopher Ford He recently sat down to do just that, and basically addressed everything you’re interested in: Jod’s past, Regarding the future of Attywhether their show will return for a second season and more.
Their answers dive into major spoilers for the show, so if you haven’t caught up yet, now’s your last chance.
In his full interview with Entertainment Weekly, which you can and should read hereWatts and Ford discuss Jod’s character arc, her backstory, plot lines they didn’t get to explore, the end credits, and the potential for a second season. One of the highlights is Jod’s last look at Atty looking out her window and discussing what it means to him.
“I’ve watched this episode 10,000 times in editing and every stage of post-production, but it was the part I watched last night with my family that actually made me feel something I hadn’t felt before. “said Ford. “It’s just that he’s alone now and he’s thinking, he’s thinking. It affects me more than it ever has before.”
“It’s one of those plays where it’s open and real enough that you throw yourself into his expression a lot,” Watts said. “While you and your family were watching, I was trolling on Reddit. Different people read different things. Some people said, “Oh, he’s just happy he finally got off the hook.” Or it’s like, ‘No, he’s sad and lonely because he’s looking at this perfect family scene.’ People saw all kinds of diversity.”
One of the differences we have yet to see is which Jedi Jod trains with. However, showrunners admit that they are left uncertain as to what to do with it in the future.
“In our heads, it looks like the potential to go deeper,” Ford said. “This part of the story is something that can be explored in the future. So when you kind of have a work in progress, you leave it open enough to work on it and get better.”
“Yeah, not this season,” Watts added. “But what a wonderful thing Star Wars so you start talking about someone’s past and there’s already a history and charm surrounding it. So you start to get excited, ‘Oh, well, if this is X amount of the larger galactic timeline, where do you put this guy?’ It’s such a rich world that you can have so many variations and different characters and backstories and it’s like endless potential. It’s a lot of fun.”
As for a second season, that’s something they’re thinking about, but it hasn’t been given an official go-ahead yet. “We definitely have ideas in our heads,” Watts said. “We’re waiting to see what everyone thinks, but we always had an idea of where it could go before we started the first season. So there’s a lot of potential there and we hope everyone sees it.”
And if that happens, the possibility of all children aging significantly will be negligible. Their ideas don’t start the day after the season one finale. “If we made more, we wouldn’t pretend the kids were only six months older,” Watts said. “It’s fun to think about how they’ll grow and adapt to the galaxy and how their world will be changed by the events of the first season.”
“And how the events of the other shows will affect Attin is interconnected,” Ford added. “It doesn’t have to be a cameo, because if historical events are happening in the galaxy, it’s going to affect everyone.”
“Yes, their lonely planet is now officially part of a larger galaxy. But what will be the consequences of this?” Watt asked. It looks like maybe they’ve got their second season storyline figured out – if there’s a second season.
