Tommy Lee has something to say to his fellow musicians.
The Mötley Crüe drummer shared a message on Instagram on Tuesday, January 14, taking aim at artists promoting their work on social media. amid the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. Thousands of people have lost their homes and been displaced by the wildfires that have ravaged the LA area since January 7th.
“It makes me sick to see how most people only care about a lame ass social media post!” Lee, 62, shared. “Guys, at this point, no one is going to give a damn if your record drops, or if there’s another concert, when so many people are in the middle of one of the biggest disasters of all time!”
“I understand some comic relief is always (needed), but Jesus Christ, let it all go and maybe just stop and see who needs help if you can,” he added, though he didn’t name any specific artists.
Lee isn’t the only star to call out celebrities over their social media activity over the past week.
on Tuesday Kelly Osbourne celebrities called she thinks they use the fires for personal attention.
Osbourne, 40, did not name names but hit out at the “disturbing” trend of stars continuing to post how they are helping victims of the bushfires, which have so far killed 25 people.
“Am I just being my normal thinking, cynical self, or is it really disturbing to see all these celebrities using other people’s pain and suffering as a photo op to say, ‘I’m helping, am I doing this? Am I doing it?” she asked in a video posted on TikTok.
“I don’t believe you help because you get attention for helping, I believe you only help because you want to.” I’m so confused, I think it’s so bad,” she continued. “No one asked you to come out and hug you, go home.
Osbourne’s comments come as celebrities around the world donate your time and money for fire relief. Many have done so publicly, sharing photos and videos of themselves volunteering.
A number of celebrities, incl Beyonce, Paris Hilton, Jamie Lee Curtis and Eva Longoria they donated money supporting organization forest fire relief. As of Wednesday, Jan. 15, fires in the Palisades and Eaton areas of LA have damaged or destroyed more than 12,300 structures, according to CNN. This includes the homes of many celebrities, including Hilton, Mel Gibson, Anna Faris and Billy Crystal.
