Ben Stiller and his wife Christine Taylorthey are grateful to have found their way back to each other.
The Zoolander the actor, 59, and Taylor, 53, briefly split in 2017 before reunification during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now married, they share a daughter Ella22 and a son Quinlin19 — they don’t take a single day for granted.
“I think we both wanted it,” Stiller said of his reconciliation with Taylor during Thursday’s appearance on View.
He continued: “In a relationship – we’ve been married for 25 years – you have to work at it. COVID happened and we all got into the house together with our family. I am grateful. I’m so thankful we’re back together.”
Stiller admitted that sometimes exes shouldn’t get back together because it’s “not the right thing to do,” but for him and Taylor, “it was the right thing to do.”
“Now, we don’t take for granted every day we’re together. I know I don’t,” the comedian blurted out. “Because you know it can go away. To me, the gift of our relationship is that we have it every day. I am so happy that we are (back together).
Stiller also opened up about his reunion with Taylor interview with The New York Times posted on Saturday January 11th.
Stiller said his marriage wasn’t in a “great place” after moving from California back to New York after his release Zoolander 2the flop that “blindsided” Stiller.
“A lot has happened,” Stiller said. “When we broke up, it was just to have the space to see what our relationship was like, what my life was like when we weren’t in that relationship, how much I loved our family unit.”
“It’s been like three or four years since we’ve been together, but we’ve always been connected. In my mind, I never wanted us to be together,” he continued. “I don’t know where Christine was, you’d have to ask her, but COVID has us all in one house.”
In an interview with Drew Barrymore in 2023, Taylor he said reconciliation during the pandemic “was for us”.
“We got married very quickly,” Taylor recalled of their wedding in 2000. “We knew each other for six months, we got engaged. We were married within a year and Ella was born the next year.”
“I think about us, just life, especially in this business and career, a lot of work and family has always been a priority, but I think both Ben and I started to grow in different directions,” she added.
