Four dead in attack in central Kyiv, Ukraine says

Four people were killed in a Russian airstrike in kyiv overnight, local officials say.

The city’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said there were operational air defenses around the Ukrainian capital.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, including at a metro station, windows were broken and a fire broke out in a non-residential building, he added. It is not clear what the objective was.

Authorities warned of a ballistic missile threat and urged locals to seek shelter.
