TikTok has said it will be forced to “go dark” in the United States on Sunday unless the government intervenes before a federal ban takes effect.

In a statement, he said that “both the Biden White House and the Department of Justice have failed to provide necessary clarity and assurance to service providers who are critical to keeping TikTok available.”

He added that unless the US government immediately provides a statement ensuring it will not be enforced, “unfortunately, TikTok will be forced to shut down on January 19.”

TikTok’s statement follows a Supreme Court ruling on Friday, which upheld a law that would ban the video app in the US unless its China-based parent company, ByteDance, sells the platform by Sunday. .
