(Reuters) – TikTok blacked out in the U.S. on Saturday before a federal ban on the Chinese short-form video app took effect, blocking access to a platform that appealed to nearly half of all Americans, who foster small business and online culture.
“A law banning TikTok has been made in the United States. Unfortunately, that means you can’t use TikTok right now. We are fortunate that President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on a solution to restore TikTok once he takes office. Please stay tuned,” said a message on the app.
