Trump taps Penny Schwinn for deputy education secretary Via Reuters


(Reuters) – President-elect Donald Trump has said he will nominate Penny Schwinn, a former Tennessee education commissioner, to be deputy secretary of the US Department of Education.

In addition to Tennessee, Schwinn has served at the Texas Education Agency as deputy commissioner of standards and engagement, deputy commissioner of special populations and supervision, and chief deputy commissioner of academics, Trump wrote on his platform. Social Reality on Saturday.

He was also Delaware’s assistant secretary of education.

Trump originally gave Schwinn’s first name as Peggy but corrected it to Penny in a later post.
