is Matty Healy set to address his relationship with Taylor Swift in his new music?
On Sunday, January 19, the 1975 singer shared a cryptic reaction to a recent report in Sun the newspaper he will sing about short-lived romance on the band’s next album.
According to a British source, Healy recorded the song with the lyrics, “Keep your head up, princess, your tiara is falling,” which appears to be about Swift, 35, according to the paper, which cited the source. (My Weekly could not be verified Sunmessage independently.)
“Huge if it’s true,” Healy, also 35, commented on the post 1975 Reddit group using his verified account, which he often uses to interact with fans.
Although Healy’s note is neither confirmation nor denial, fans on the 1975 subreddit pointed out that the alleged lyrics reported Sun to match an Instagram caption Healy shared in February 2021. “Heads up princess, your tiara is falling 💫🌸👑,” he said he wrote next to photos of him wearing a hood in a recording studio.
Swift and Healy were first romantically linked in 2014. They briefly dated in 2023 after “Fortnight” the singer broke up with the British actor Joe Alwyn in April of that year. In January 2023, Swift surprised fans at The 1975’s concert at The O2 in London by joining the band on stage for an acoustic version of their song “Anti-Hero”. Months later, in May, Healy appeared on stage during Swift Eras Tourperforming with the opening act Phoebe Bridgers.
