Inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump It will be one of the most transformative moments in our nation’s history. Neither the mainstream media, nor the political establishment, nor even an assassin’s bullet could stop Donald J. Trump. On Inauguration Day, I will be in Washington representing the great state of Arkansas, applauding as Trump places his hand on the Bible, takes the oath of office, and becomes our nation’s 47th president.
For Republican governors across the country, this moment couldn’t come soon enough.
The last four years of the Biden-Harris presidency have been disastrous for our country. Where that administration failed, governors had to step up: on the economy, the border and public safety. We are ready to have a partner and a fighter in the White House.
DHS OFFERED TO EXEMPT THOUSANDS OF IMMIGRANTS FROM TERROR-RELATED ENTRY RESTRICTIONS IN FY 2024
Shortly after taking office in 2023, Biden’s border crisis peaked, with thousands of illegal immigrants crossing into our country daily. Arkansas joined other Republican-led states in sending National Guard members to the southern border to help our friends in Texas. I traveled there that summer to thank our guards and learn firsthand about Biden’s border crisis.
What I saw and heard was heartbreaking: National Guard members were sweating in temperatures over 100 degrees, enough fentanyl was flowing across our border to stop the hearts of all Americans many times over, and the immigrants who were supposedly was helping President Joe Biden, they were often dying of exhaustion in the desert.
We will soon have a president who takes border security seriously. Republican governors are on par with the incoming president, ready to remove violent illegal immigrants from our states and keep our country safe.
Biden’s failures also extend to the economy. Under his reckless tax and spending policies, prices rose more than 20% nationwide. For everyday items like eggs, milk, rent, and gasoline, inflation has crippled American families.
As governor I go to the communities around our state and meet people who really can’t afford those kinds of price increases: the mother who has to skip her own dinner just so her children don’t go hungry, the restaurant owner who has to fire employees because Food costs have risen so much that the family cannot take vacations this summer because gasoline prices are so expensive.
My administration has cut taxes three times to provide relief to these families, and I am working to responsibly and phase out the Arkansas personal income tax entirely. But for families who need help today, Trump can provide it. He promised to cut taxes for working, middle-class families and—more importantly—he promised to cut the wasteful spending that fueled inflation in the first place.
What excites me most about a new Trump administration: the American people will finally have a leader in the White House again. Biden adopted an antagonistic attitude toward state leaders who dared to disagree with his administration.

He attempted to rewrite Title IX, allowing men to accept women’s scholarships and forcing boys to go to girls’ locker rooms. Arkansas sued his administration and won, but we really shouldn’t have to fight the federal government over common sense issues.
Biden’s EPA was known for its regulatory overreach. Its bureaucrats, operating on computer screens in Washington, tried to regulate the existence of factories and businesses in Arkansas based on shoddy projections and twisted research. Arkansas sued the federal government again. It will be great to have a president who really understands how to run a business and make decisions about some of our state’s largest employers.
On education, health care and other major federal spending priorities, the Biden administration was far more interested in enforcing partisan politics than in providing aid to Americans in need. Trump will put the focus of the federal government back on the people.

Around this time eight years ago, my husband Bryan and I were frantically packing our house in Little Rock to move our family (including three young children) to Washington so I could begin my work in the first Trump administration. Today I am preparing to go to Washington again, but as acting governor.
Times change, but my loyalty to President Trump does not. I know this president has never been better equipped or more prepared to make America great again, and I can promise that Republican governors will be with him every step of the way.
