Tyra Banks opens up about losing her home in Los Angeles.
The supermodel, 51, made the revelation on the Australian morning show on Monday, January 20 Sunrise that he is among the celebrities whose house burned down in devastating forest fires which started on January 7.
Banks said she and her partner, an entrepreneur Louis Bélanger-Martinshe learned the sad news in Australia, where she spends her time when she is not in the US
“I lost my house,” ex America’s next top model host shared. “I haven’t really talked about it, but yes, I have. I just didn’t want to draw too much attention to myself. I feel like a lot of people need that attention, so I haven’t really talked about it, but I can’t sit here and not tell the truth that yes, we lost our house.”
As the wildfires continue to spread through the Los Angeles area, several celebrities are taking to social media to share how they’ve been affected. “Evacuated and safe with children, dog and cats. Banks continued: “We were here at a friend’s house celebrating and having fun. I kept checking my phone, not for my house but for friends and family to make sure they were evacuated and stuff. And then I asked my partner, I was like, ‘I see something here, what do you think?’ and he (nodded). And I just put it together and I didn’t say anything to my friends and I stayed in the moment, and then we went home and we cried and we had our moment.”
Banks noted that she and Bélanger-Martin split their time between Australia and New York, so most of her belongings are safe. “A lot of the memorabilia is here and in New York, so thank God I didn’t lose it,” she said. “There were a few mementos that we lost… it’s hard.
Fueled by strong Santa Ana winds and dry conditions, the fires decimated thousands of homes, displaced residents across Los Angeles, and killed at least 25 people. According to Associated Pressthe fires burned 63 square miles of land.
Stars included Spencer Pratt and Heidi Monday, Paris Hilton and Billy Crystal they also lost their homes in the fires.

“I didn’t know what to do,” Montag he said My Weekly on Wednesday, Jan. 15, referring to the moment she realized she and her family had to flee the wildfire burning through Pacific Palisades. “Nothing could have prepared me for that… You just can’t wrap your head around it. I started packing things that made sense – I didn’t really think about anything else.’

“I don’t have any photos,” Montag said. “I have all these photo albums that I made for Spencer before there was Instagram and TikTok and the iPhone. I will never have these photos again. All this sentimental stuff is just gone, you know?”
