US oligarchs such as Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Apple CEO Tim Cook were spotted sitting behind Donald Trump’s family at church on Monday morning, hours before the incoming president’s inauguration. And it’s a nice reminder that the U.S. is about to enter a scary new era, beginning with Trump’s inauguration as the 47th president at noon ET.
Trump attended St. John’s Episcopal Church in Washington on Monday, a tradition followed by former presidents such as Barack Obama and George W. Bush. But these presidents did not have business leaders who would benefit from the incoming administration filling the seats.

Musk and other Big Tech CEOs all have huge contracts with the US government through their companies and are profiting from being close to Trump. CNBC commentators defended the presence of oligarchs in the church. Former New Hampshire Gov.
