“This is a delicate time. It’s a new day and yet many are nervous. Our politics are inflamed and social media only increases anxiety. It seems that @elonmusk made an awkward gesture in a moment of excitement, not in a Nazi salute, but again, we appreciate that people are nervous right now, all parties should give each other some grace, maybe even the benefit of the doubt, and hope that this is a new beginning to healing. and work towards unity in the months and years to come,” the ADL wrote.

The ADL’s mission is to “stop the defamation of the Jewish people and ensure justice and fair treatment for all.”

Ocasio-Cortez did not believe the claim and accused the organization of advocating a Nazi salute.

“To be clear, you are defending a Heil Hitler salute that was performed and repeated for emphasis and clarity. People can officially stop listening to it like any kind of reliable source of information now. You work for them. Thanks for doing that . very clear to everyone,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote.

Fox News Digital contacted the ADL for comment.

ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt, formerly criticized Ocasio-Cortez and other “Squad” House members in 2023 for their extreme positions on the war between Israel and Gaza.

“I think Rashida Tlaib has been very marginalized in her own district. And, like AOC, I don’t even see her in the media anymore. I think these individuals with their radical ideas have marginalized themselves,” Greenblatt told Fox News Digital in time.

“So, I think AOC doesn’t matter much. She’s one of the 430 people, or Tlaib or Ilhan Omar, and we don’t need to assign them more influence because you already see that their influence has diminished and they have weakened in recent years as “Their positions have become more radical and I think they have reduced their ability to reach a broader audience,” Greenblatt continued. “There are extremist voices on all sides. Let’s leave them out of where they belong.”
