Govtech giant Conduent won’t rule out cyberattacks as outages continue


An ongoing “service outage” at government contractor giant Conduent has caused outages in several US states and deprived residents of some benefits and support payments.

A person familiar with the incident told TechCrunch that the outage was caused by a cyber attack. Conduent spokesman Sean Collins acknowledged the company’s outage was ongoing, but declined to answer questions or rule out a cyber incident.

“While we have been restoring service over the past few days, we are currently experiencing a service outage that is affecting some applications. The Conduent technology team is working hard to resolve any remaining issues,” said a Conduent spokesperson.
