UPDATE Jan. 21 at 10:10 a.m. ET:
Justin Bieber clarified that he is not the one to unfollow his wife Hailey Bieber on Instagram.
“Someone got into my account and unfollowed my wife,” he wrote via Instagram Story on Tuesday, January 21.
Original story below:
The explanation came after fans realized Justin, 30, had unfollowed Hailey, 28, on the social media app. My Weekly confirmed that he wasn’t keeping up with his wife online, but Hailey was still stalking Justin.
Just a few hours before, Justin shared photos from his fling with Haileywho wrote via Instagram Story on Monday, January 20, “The best woman I have and will ever know.”
The fact that the duo have been spotted together in recent days has led several commentators to speculate that the “only reason” Justin is no longer following Hailey is “because she’s releasing new music” and the social media upheaval was a way to stir up intrigue. Meanwhile, other people shared photos of Justin and Hailey over the weekend in Aspen, pointing out that he “just sent a sweet message” to Hailey, who “liked his photo” the day before.
Justin and Hailey have yet to publicly comment on the chat on social media. A month ago, Hailey seemed to clap back on the separate Social media speculation surrounding her marriage when she shared a viral video of TikTok user EyeGotThyme repeating the line: “You’re not okay and that’s okay.” Hailey captioned the video, “To all of you on the internet 🫶🏻” The social media upload came after what another TikTok fan speculated if Hailey and Justin were vacationing together.
The couple started dating in 2015 before calling it quits a year later. After their breakup, Justin he briefly rekindled his on-off romance with Selena Gomezbut in 2018 they ended it for good. Later that year, Justin and Hailey renewed their relationship and got engaged. They exchanged vows in a New York courthouse in September 2018 and had a second wedding ceremony a year later.
Hailey has been sharing her insights ever since into their tumultuous marriageincluding standing by Justin through his ups and downs.
“I remember calling (my mom) a couple of times, one time (when) we were in Brooklyn and I called her and I was crying and I was like, ‘I just can’t do this. There’s no way I’m going to be able to do that if it’s going to be like this forever,” she explained during a November 2021 episode of the “In Good Faith With Chelsea and Judah Smith” podcast. “And I just remember her being so calm on the phone and saying to herself, ‘This will pass, you’ll be fine and he’ll be fine and we’re here for you.'”
Hailey added: “But I also think I was in it. I made up my mind. I know for sure that I have loved this person for a very long time and now would not be the time to give him up. I just wouldn’t do that to him.”
“Imagine leaving someone in the middle of the worst time of their life, potentially. I’m not that type of person,” she continued. “So I wanted to stick it out no matter what the outcome was. It was really hard. There were days where I literally thought to myself, ‘I don’t know if he’s going to be okay.’ Something really deep inside me was like, ‘He’s going to get through this.’ I just didn’t know how long it would take.”
Justin also discussed about lessons he learned in the early days of his marriage.
“It’s a journey. I remember when I first got married I had a bit of an emotional breakdown because I thought marriage would solve all my problems, but it didn’t,” he told Apple Music. Ebro Darden in May 2022. “It was kind of a rebound like, ‘Man, you’re kind of a hypocrite, man.'”
Hailey and Justin did since they expanded their family with son Jack, who they welcomed in August.
“Since renewing their vows (in May 2024) and welcoming baby Jack, their marriage has taken a complete turn,” a source exclusively said. My Weekly earlier this month. “He really brought them so much happiness and a renewed bond.
According to the insider, fatherhood has put Justin in a good place mentally, while Hailey’s “main priority right now is being a mom.”
