The group took to Instagram Stories on Sunday, January 19 to share the statement about their decision cancel the event.
“To our dearest Peabodies,” their message read. “It is with a heavy heart that in light of the current circumstances, our Las Vegas shows are not moving forward as planned.”
The statement continued: “Ticket providers will automatically issue a full refund. Follow us and stay tuned for news on future shows – we can’t wait to see you again.”

The Black Eyed Peas did not provide further details about the cancellation. They originally announced Black Eyed Peas: 3008 The Las Vegas Residency in September 2024, with performances scheduled will take place at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
“Our first residency in Las Vegas gives the Black Eyed Peas the opportunity to do what we do best, come up with something completely new and creative that pushes the boundaries of the live performance experience,” Will.i.am said in a statement about the residency, which was scheduled for 15 dates in February, March and May.
Will.i.am, 45, and bandmates performed at the planned event Apple de Ap, Taboo and J. Rey Seoul. Fergie, who was part of the group from 2002 to 2018, was not scheduled to appear. The residence would also introduce the presence of an artificial intelligence called Vida as the newest member bands.

“We predicted this in 2009 with ‘The END’ and the avatar persona in the video and the character on our album cover,” Will.i.am. he said USA TODAY in September 2024. “When I was a kid running projects in LA and Apple was running around the Philippines, I thought we were going to have the first AI member of a globally recognized urban pop-hip-hop group… a man. “
Will.i.am clarified that “Vida” is not a “hologram,” adding, “With a hologram, you have to experience it with a holographic projector, so you can only do that when the show is in Vegas.”
He concluded: “When we have an AI member of the Black Eyed Peas, you can engage and interact 24/7… our member of the group will be involved with every member of the band, the stage hands and the audience if they want her.”
