Launches speed control and high quality audio tests for YouTube Premium users


On Wednesday, YouTube said it was adding new experimental features for Premium users, including high-quality audio, a faster playback speed option on mobile and the ability to “skip ahead” on the web to jump to a more interesting part of a video.

If you like watching videos at higher playback speeds, YouTube now lets you watch them at 4x speed on mobile. Until now, users could set 2x as the highest playback speed.

Last year, YouTube introduced “Skip ahead” function on mobile devicewhich allows users to skip to the best part of the video. YouTube’s algorithm determines the best parts through machine learning and user feedback. The company is now bringing this feature to the web for Premium users.

Google is also expanding two artificial intelligence features associated with YouTube. The company for YouTube Music is expanding its “Music Request” feature to Great Britain and Ireland. Users can request “fun workout tracks” or “relaxing jazz” and the app will generate a personalized radio station based on the request. Other competitors, including Spotify and Amazon Musichave also tried such features.

He started doing YouTube conversational AI feature for users to ask questions or get recommendations about videos in 2023. The company said that this feature will soon be available for iOS users as well.
