Samsung Unpacked “One More Thing” was a bit odd. After the presentation ended, the company released a short video of the Galaxy Edge prepackaged so as not to be confused with the Star Wars theme park of the same name.
Although limited, the detection was confirmation of earlier rumors that the hardware giant is working on an ultra-slim version of its new S25 flagship. The Galaxy S25 Edge is probably another level up for the line, Slot with the S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra.
Key details, including price, availability and actual thickness, were not released, although the company did show off what appeared to be mock-ups at an event on Wednesday. Early rumors pointed to a thickness of 6.4mm, a significant reduction from the Galaxy S25’s base 7.2mm.
Samsung clearly wanted to avoid taking too much wind out of the Galaxy S25’s sails during the event, so it opted for a more cryptic reveal. Nevertheless, the appearance of the device on Unpacked may be enough to prevent early adopters from pre-ordering the S25 ahead of its February 7 release.
After all, these are the people who get excited about things like a 0.8mm profile reduction.
