I went to DC to meet them all over the weekend right-wing influencers and content creators who prepare President Donald Trump 2024 wins are possible. They were everywhere.
It was the 2024 election influencing election and the inauguration was no different: There were dozens of pre- and post-inauguration parties and balls this weekend, as well as the big event itself. Theo Von sat in front of Jake and Logan Paul under the Capitol rotunda (well, until the podcaster’s chair falls over). Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh, and Brett Cooper took selfies with their fans as they walked down the red carpet at Turning Point, USA. HouseInhabit newsletter writer Jessic Reed Kraus caught up with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at the Make America Healthy Again ball Monday night.
I published it in August A guide to Republican and Democratic influencers It shapes the 2024 elections. Influencers and content creators are still important, and they will be communicating and guiding policy decisions for years to come.
Welcome to Trump 2.0, where these creators have not only their audience, but the president’s ear as well. Here are some of the things to watch out for over the next four years.
The 2024 election was a watershed moment for podcasters in politics. Most of Trump’s shows were on served the manospherea loose network of creators who broadcast misogynistic, racist and pro-male ideology on the internet. This includes people like Joe Rogan, Andrew Schulz, Paul Brothers and Adin RossTrump shared his interviews with millions and millions of fans. There is a second branch of creators who describe themselves as the intellectual wing of the modern Republican party. Ben Shapiro, Dave Rubin, and Lex Friedman. Friedman’s YouTube podcast reaches millions of viewers every week. Shapiro’s show is one of the most popular The ones on Spotify.
These podcasters have boosted Trump and his agenda with little, if any, push. They are likely to play a key role in rallying support for the Trump administration’s decisions.
I spoke with Shapiro briefly Sunday evening to ask what’s next for the GOP and podcasting. “The power continues to grow,” he said. “The corrupt media has completely destroyed itself. We’re focused on expansion, not just our brand, but there are so many other brands that need to expand, so it’s going to be a very rich time for the podcast industry.”
DC Draino, Typical Liberal, RagingAmericans and Snowflaketears Here are some of the biggest pro-MAGA meme pages on Instagram. Together, these accounts have more than 6 million followers. They act as a conduit between GOP leadership priorities and platforms like X and Instagram.
Think of them as news aggregators for people who might not otherwise use their accounts.
Although Democrats worked with influencers in the last election cycle, no PAC or campaign organized them as effectively and efficiently as they did. According to Turning Point USA and its leader, Charlie KirkMany of the GOP’s most prominent founders see each other at least a few times a year at the organization’s summits and trainings. According to interviews with some of the right’s top organizers, this infrastructure will only develop over the next four years. Organizers themselves have become influencers to watch.
I wrote about An impressive party (and victory lap) during the Inauguration weekend. laid by CJ Pearson and Raquel Debono. Pearson, a conservative creator with more than 500,000 X followers, co-chairs the Republican National Committee’s youth advisory board. He has played a key role in the party’s adoption of influencers and is planning additional trainings with organizations such as the Heritage Foundation.
