Austin Butler‘s love life may have hit its lowest point when there were reports of his breakup from Kaia Gerber earlier this month – three years since the pair officially went public with their romance.
On the other hand, his style status has literally reached new heights, as evidenced on Wednesday, January 22, when luxury label Saint Laurent cast Butler, 33, in its new spring 2025 campaign, which is replete with a video of him dressed to the nines in a three piece suit.
In the short film, Butler dons a smart tan blazer with a striped shirt and dark teal tie as he looks out over the Manhattan skyline from the window of an opulent corner office, befitting a true Saint Laurent man in the city. she regularly dresses in designer clothes.
This collaboration further cements Butler’s status as a style icon and reinforces Saint Laurent’s reputation for selecting influencers to represent the brand on and off the red carpet.
Together, the imagery of the campaign visuals and the accompanying video evoke a sense of timeless elegance and modern masculinity that coincides with the house’s founder, Yves Saint Laurent himself, whose boxy, heavy-shouldered suits inspired the new season styles seen here.
This is not the actor’s first foray into the world of Saint Laurent. He previously served as the global ambassador for YSL Beauty’s MYSLF men’s fragrance, a role that further cemented his association with the brand. Outside of official campaigns, Butler has consistently chosen Saint Laurent for high-profile appearances, including the 2023 Oscars and the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party, where he didn’t wear two complete looks, each woven with the house’s cozy style codes.
It was a heavily publicized red carpet moment when Butler took Gerber, 23, as his date, who almost stole the show in a stunning Celine dress with a slit that revealed the model’s mile-long legs.
The new campaign images, notably of Butler with his signature tousled hairdo, appear to have been captured before he recently made his bad boy debut – worthy of a new haircut while working on Darren Aronofskyupcoming movie Caught stealingin Tulum, Mexico.
While fans can certainly search Elvis star’s name in lights (and his face on billboards), it was hard not to conjure up a mental image of Butler and Gerber as one happy couple, given that the campaign film was set to David Bowie2016 song “Girl Loves Me”. Lest you forget, the lyrics describe what it’s like to be in severe pain, though Butler’s version hit a seriously high-fashion note.
