Universal Pictures and Blumhouse debuted on Wednesday, January 22 first trailer to the highly anticipated thriller, Decrease.
The film tells the story of a widowed mother, Violet (Fahy), who goes on her first date with Henry (Sklenar) after years.
While she’s relieved to discover that her date is more charming and handsome than she originally expected, their chemistry takes a back seat when Violet starts receiving terroristic anonymous messages on her phone.
“Check your home security cameras,” reads one message. Another adds: “If you tell your date, your son will die.”
Violet quickly learns that she has to exactly as instructed or everyone he loves will die. In another twist, her invisible tormentor’s last order is to kill Henry.
“First dates are pretty nerve-wracking,” Universal Pictures said in the film’s synopsis. “Going on a first date while an unnamed, invisible troll pings you with personal memes that escalate from annoying to murderous? Blood chilling.”
Decrease is in the direction Christopher Landonwho previously wrote and directed Happy death day movies and slasher 2020 Odd. Filmmaker Michael Bay he is also listed among the film’s producers.
The project comes as Fahy’s star continues to rise, thanks in no small part to her performances in White lotus and A perfect couple.
The glazier won the hearts of moviegoers when he starred in the 2024 adaptation Colleen Hoover‘with It ends with us.
in the movie Blake LivelyLily’s character escapes an abusive relationship with Ryle, who she plays Justin Baldoniwith the help of his old flame Atlas, portrayed by the Glazier.
The film eventually started making headlines for its off-screen drama as well.
While Lively and Baldoni continue to navigate very public, ongoing legal battlethe Glazier decided publicly support one of his colleagues.

Baldoni has since sued Lively 400 million dollars for damages, accusing the actress of being “determined to make Baldoni the real villain in her story”.
Lively’s team responded to the lawsuit in the words “does not rebut the evidence in Ms. Lively’s complaint and fails.” The actress denied all Baldoni’s accusations.
Decrease is in theaters everywhere on Friday, April 11.
