When pressed about President Donald Trump’s executive order rejecting transgender ideology, Canadian Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre challenged a journalist to name any gender other than “men and women.”
On his first day in office, Trump declared: “Beginning today, it will be the official policy of the United States Government that there be only two genders, man and woman.” The executive order, “Defend women from gender ideology extremism and restore biological truth to the federal government,” was part of a series of reforms against the excesses of far-left identity politics in the American government.
CP24 news anchor Phil Perkins spoke about the executive order while interviewing Poilievre, the politician many believe to be most likely to replace The current Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.
The host asked, “If you are elected prime minister, is that something you will align yourself with? Or what are your feelings about that executive order?”
Canadian Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre challenged an interviewer to name any gender identity other than male and female.
“Well, I don’t know. Do you have any other genders you’d like to name?” -Poilievre asked dryly.
The host reiterated his question: “I’m just asking more if you agree with what he’s saying. Do you agree with what he’s saying? Is that something you would agree with if you were elected prime minister?”
“Well, I don’t know any other genders besides men and women. I mean, if you have any others you want me to consider, you can tell me right now,” the Canadian Conservative leader said.

“Me too. I’m a man too,” Poilievre responded, adding, “We have something in common.”
“You’re a man, yes,” Perkins said. “There are people there who say they are gender neutral, uhh, they are trans people. Is that something you would recognize here? Whereas in the United States, at least with their American government, the way they view that, they just “There are two?”

“I only know two, but, I mean, if you have… if you can think of another list, then you can do it. But I know two,” Poilievre responded. “And as far as I’m concerned, we should have a government that just minds its own damn business and leaves the people alone.”
When asked about the news anchor On whether passports with other gender identities should be recognized, the Canadian Conservative leader argued that there are much more pressing issues at hand.
“I have to be honest with you. I just watched your segment about the homeless camps that are popping up all over Toronto. We have 25% of our population in poverty, housing costs have doubled, crime is rampant our streets, it just seems like a strange priority to spend time talking about this,” Poilievre said.
He went on to detail what he prefers to focus on to improve the lives of Canadian citizens.
“My priority is to give people back control of their lives and take back Canada’s promise that anyone who works hard will receive a powerful paycheck and pension that allows them to buy food, gas and affordable housing in safe neighborhoods. That’s it the promise we need for Canadians,” Poilievre. saying.
“If the Liberals want to talk about the different gender labels they want to put on passports in the United States, they can do that. I’m going to talk about the things that will bring home the promise of Canada,” she added.
