Netflix WAGs to Riches was about the wives, girlfriends, and ex-partners of professional athletes and rappers—yet somehow 50 centsPast legal issues over a leaked sex tape quickly came into focus.
The lawsuit made headlines amid the 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson III) feud. Lastonia “Stoni” Levistonformer Rick Ross. In 2009, a 13-minute video of 50 Cent — in a wig — narrating the tape surfaced online. A jury ordered the rapper to pay Stoni $5 million in 2015 after the alleged acquisition video from her ex-boyfriend Maurice Murray.
“This is something that happened to me,” she testified at the time. “I had no choice. I would never, ever do this to myself.”
Lawyer William A. Brewer III stated that 50 Cent and his legal team were “disappointed with the verdict, but very appreciative of the service of the jury and the court.” (A rep for 50 Cent has not responded to the resurfaced allegations on the Netflix reality show.)
“Our client intends to file pre-sentence motions after sentencing that we believe should reduce the amount of the award,” the statement said My Weekly he continued. “The fate of any obligation to pay a final judgment will ultimately be decided by the bankruptcy court.”
Stoni was given the opportunity to elaborate Netflix WAGs to Richeswhich it was released in January 2025.
“At the height of the breakup, the beef started with Rick and 50 Cent. In short, my ex — the guy who was on the sex tape — is bitter, so he goes and sells the tape to 50 Cent,” she claimed in the first episode. “Then 50 Cent released it on ThisIs50. It’s petty and haunts me to this day.”

During the series premiere, Stoni said she thought her leaked sex tape contributed the distance between her and her fellow citizens. (WAGs to Riches stars too Sharelle Rosado, Maranda Johnson, Ashley Wheeler, Alexis Welch Stoudemire, Porsha Berto, Sadé Vanessa, Keeta Hill and Jules Goddard.)
“So things happened that Rick is not so happy about. A sex tape,” she explained. “I dated this guy a long, long time ago – after I ended my relationship with Rick Ross. He wanted to videotape me and didn’t even ask. He would just pull it out. Not once did it cross my mind to have sex with him on tape. I didn’t feel dangerous at that moment. I felt that I was happy.”
Stoni revealed what led to the discovery of the sex tape. “I made the tape. Things got rough, he started cheating and I passed him on to the other girl. He was getting upset about it. We broke up,” she continued about how the video allegedly ended up in 50 Cent’s possession.
The reality star got emotional about the “leniency” she wanted was extended to her at your own expense.
“I was collateral damage in a beef I had nothing to do with,” Stoni noted. “My whole life changed in that second. The moment the tape was released, nothing was the same. I became suicidal and didn’t want to live anymore. I felt like I was damaged goods. Like no man will ever love me again. I felt like I let my kids down tremendously.”
50 Cent, who filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2015 after the initial ruling, was ordered by a New York jury to pay Stoni $2 million in damages. The amount was discussed multiple times on WAGs to Riches.
“She allegedly sued 50 Cent,” Sharelle told the cameras. “If I sued 50 Cent and got a few million dollars, I’m not going to stand under my father. I would take the money and buy my own house because as a woman I never want to be dependent on a man. Girl, you’re all senior and nothing has changed.”
Stoni, meanwhile, defended her money problems stemming from her attempts to open a boutique.
“I wasn’t given anything.” The money they said I lost was all mine,” she shared. “It wasn’t from my football boyfriend or my basketball husband. If I took it and threw it all down the toilet or if I wanted to go buy 10 cars, it was my money and I could do whatever I wanted with it.”
According to The Washington Post50 Cent accused Ross in another lawsuit that same year of being responsible for leaking the entire video online first. Ross’ attorney called the suit a “desperate” attempt to “avoid and deflect legal and financial responsibility.”
According to Sharell, words others have used to describe Stoni include “pornstar and escort”.
“What frustrates me is that she had more money than the rest of us. She won a big lawsuit from 50 Cent and she just messed it up trying to impress others,” Sharelle said. “She moves around the wrong people and is the oldest of us all. Older people are harder to change. I’m not going to waste my time and breath trying to raise Grandma.”
Stoni decided to strike back by recalling the problems she had heard about Sharelle a Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson‘s then-engagement.
“They say you have an open-door type of relationship. It’s an arranged relationship. You got together because it looks good on paper and business wise. For looks,” Stoni claimed. “Because they say he likes threes. With other parties.”
Sharelle denied the insinuations, adding: “I don’t have time to focus on what other people think and their opinion. If I sit here and worry about what everyone feels, then I’m losing money. … We are together. There is no agreement.”
Sharelle and Chad called it quits once production wrapped.
