Nomination for Oscars 2025 are in and a select group of movie stars will be going for the gold at the 97th Annual Academy Awards in just a few weeks.
Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennott announced the nominations at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Thursday, January 23. Emilia Perez dominated the list of nominations with a total of 13, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldana and Best Actress in a Leading Role for Karla Sofia Gascón.

The Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 2 at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater at Ovation Hollywood. Conan O’Brien is set as host awards are being presented for the first time, and joked in a November 2024 statement: “America asked for it, and now it’s happening: Taco Bell’s new Cheesy Chalupa Supreme. In other words, I host the Oscars.’
“We are thrilled and honored to host the inimitable Conan O’Brien at the Academy Awards this year,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer and President of the Academy Janet Yang he said in a joint press release at the time. “He is the perfect person to help us lead our global celebration of film with his brilliant humor, love of film and experience in live television.”
Their statement continued: “His remarkable ability to connect with audiences will bring viewers together to do what the Oscars do best – honor this year’s great films and filmmakers.”
