Will Shakur’s glass hand hold up against Schofield?

Shakur Stevenson believes he is the “stronger fighter than Floyd Schofield after impressing him in the last one. WBC lightweight champion Shakur’s KO rate is 45.5%.

hand injuries

Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs) says he had had hand problems throughout his career, which limited his ability to sit on his punches. His glass hand remains a problem as he recently underwent hand surgery.

In a recent video posted of Shakur working out, he was not using his right hand. That’s the one he had surgery on. If Stevenson’s hand crumbles against Schofield, he will be helpless and unable to fight him. He can’t race to victory like he did against Los Santos’ Edwin and count on the judges to give him a win because it’s the A side.

“The only thing that makes him a threat is his awkward style. Its unconventional rhythm, the jump and they just have to be prepared for it. But honestly, I’m levels about your son. So, I’m going to show it,” Shakur Stevenson told Shawn Porter’s channeltalking about Floyd Schofield.

“I think it’s deception,” Shakur said when asked why wrestlers think they can beat him after they’ve messed with him. “He didn’t see anything when he was in the ring. He didn’t come out of the ring and say, ‘I think I can beat him because he came out of the ring and said he was the best wrestler he’s ever been in the ring with.’

If Shakur isn’t pulling power due to his fragile hands, it’s understandable why his fellow fighters think they can beat him. If Schofield is going through what he went through with his fight with Shakur, it’s understandable why he feels like he can beat him. It’s a logical conclusion anyone would come to after training with a fighter favoring a fragile, injury-prone hand.

“He dm me dm and said, ‘Bro, you’re better than anyone I’ve ever seen.’ He remembered what the fight was like,” Shakur said of his match with Schofield. “He remembered what happened, but I think fighters today have than to be delusional. I think he is a delusional child, and his father is delusional. They tell themselves to promote themselves, but I read between the lines.”

If Shakur couldn’t sit on his punches due to hand problems, how can you call Kid Austin “delusional” for believing he can beat him? It makes sense that he thinks he can beat a non-puncher.

“I feel like I’m stronger than him. I don’t feel like he’s stronger than me. I think people get confused with me having hand problems throughout my career. I think I’m honestly a stronger fighter than him,” Shakur Stevenson said.

Shakur sounds delusional here, saying he thinks he’s “tougher” than Schofield because all you have to do is watch his past fights on YouTube, and you can tell that Kid Austin is a much bigger puncher.
