Canelo Álvarez explained why he has not given David Benavész a fight, saying that he has been disrespectful with the way he approached him in trying to get the opportunity. Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KO) says why he should give money to someone who uses that tactic.
In recent years, Benavidez has used constant pressure to push Canelo to give him the fight he wants. He accused him of putting him down, questioned his legacy and also mentioned that he had success with Dmitry Bivol, a fighter Canelo lost to.
