When many fled California forest firesRandy Savvy went into action and led to fires to save horses in danger of extinction.
Savvy, founder of the nonprofit group of youth defense, Compton Cowboys, has been fundamental in the rescue of horses while California forest fires continue to ravage the state. The organization, whose motto is “the streets raised us. The horses saved us,” has been part of a growing coalition to rescue forgotten cattle in the midst of devastation.
“My first instinct was ‘How can I help?'” He told Fox News Digital. “I am so and how they raised me.”
He shared that, shortly after offering help, his phone began to “explode like crazy.” People needed help and Savvy was there to offer it.
“I rescued six horses the first night,” he shared. “The horsepower was activated very quickly to protect those horses.”

Savvy entered a restricted area zone in Calabasas After a woman asked for help to recover her horse.
“Everything that could be seen was orange,” Savvy said. “I came from Compton to Calabasas, and it took me about an hour and a half to get there, and she was ready. And we loaded those horses.

One of Savvy’s most heartbreak occurred in Sunland-Tujunga, a remote area between the Crescent Valley and the executioner mountains. Driving to the cannon In the middle of the night, he said that the light had been cut and that the roads were closed.
“I simply surrounded the road closure signal and entered the deep and dark cannon,” he said. “Even the rangers were gone. But I had my truck, all my lights lit all the time.”
He said he drove his trailer for 45 feet horses to the depths of the remote cannon.
“That’s why I bought this truck. You can do the job,” he shared. “During that we rescue three horses.”

“So, it doesn’t matter if you are white, black, heterosexual, gay, rich, poor or whatever, you have horses, love your family,” he said. “It is special to be able to enter that mode and be there with those people.”
