Justin Baldoni responds to Blake Lively’s attempted silence, calling it “tactical cleverness”


Justin Baldoni’s legal team does not let Blake Lively’s gag order Request to go quietly.

Earlier this week, the actress demanded a gag order be placed against Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, after Freedman posted raw footage from the set of “It Ends With Us.”

In a court filing Tuesday, Lively’s team criticized Freedman for making multiple statements to the media that could taint a jury if the actress’ sexual harassment allegations against Baldoni reach the courtroom.

On January 23, Baldoni’s lawyers filed a response, calling Lively’s attempted gag order an “intimidation tactic” and “tactical cleverness.”

“Having publicly made ruinous accusations that the Wayfarer Parties can prove to be false, the Lively Parties now invoke attorney disciplinary rules as an intimidation tactic,” Baldoni’s legal team wrote.

“The Animated Parties’ desire to force Wayfarer Parties to defend themselves privately against publicly made accusations is not an appropriate basis for a gag order. It is a tactical game and it is scandalous.”

The filing claims that after a “bombshell” New York Times article included Lively’s sexual harassment allegations against Baldoni, the release of the raw footage from “This Ends With Us” has been vital to protecting her client. .

They called the reaction to the article “absolutely calamitous,” adding that Baldoni and his team have been “exiled from polite society” because of it. The letter also said that Baldoni has suffered damages “totaling hundreds of millions of dollars due to Ms. Lively’s scorched earth media campaign.”

Representatives for Lively did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

The unedited “This Ends With Us” video, shared by Baldoni’s attorney and obtained by Fox News Digital, reportedly addresses the actress’ claims about a slow dancing scene.

Lively claimed that Baldoni “leaned forward and slowly trailed his lips from her ear to her neck while saying, ‘It smells so good,'” while filming a slow dance montage scene, according to her Dec. 20 sexual harassment lawsuit. obtained by Fox. Digital news.

“When Ms. Lively later objected to this behavior, Mr. Baldoni’s response was, ‘I’m not even attracted to you.'”

As Baldoni snuggled into Lively’s neck, the actor jokingly asked, “Am I going to grow a beard for you today?” She laughed and said, “I’m probably spray tanning you.”

Baldoni then said, “It smells good,” to which Lively responded, “Well, it’s not that. It’s my body makeup.”

The videos “captured on May 23, 2023 clearly refute Ms. Lively’s characterization of her behavior,” a statement shared at the beginning of the clip read. “The scene in question was designed to show the two characters falling in love and longing to be close to each other. Both actors clearly behave well within the scope of the scene and with mutual respect and professionalism. These are the three filmed takes of the sequence.”

Lively’s legal team claimed the raw video is “damning evidence” and “corroborates” her sexual harassment allegations.
