WBC Figueroa’s featherweight weight champion (25-1-1, 19 kos) defends against former unified Super Bantam champion two belts Stephen Fulton (22-1, 18 kos) in his rematch of 12 round this Saturday February 1, at the T -Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Figueroa vs. Fulton 2 is on the billboard of David Benavidez vs. David Morrell and will be shown live in PBC in Main video PPV The event is sold for $ 79.95.
Change of class of weight
The rematch will be four heavier pounds than the first fight in 122, and Figueroa looks stronger since he moved to 126 in 2022 after his close defeat against Fulton. In three fights, Figueroa has had in the pen weight, dominated these fighters:

Fulton is a pure boxer and will try all the tricks of the book to defeat Figueroa. We will probably see many clinch, move and blows. It has a Mayweather-Esque Style about him and use many technical things to compensate for his lack of drilling power.
Stephen has zero power, and his only way to defeat Figueroa is by decision. Given how good Brandon has been seen since its transfer to the pen weight, it is difficult to ask that Fulton win on Saturday, apart from being lucky with the score again.
Four years ago, on November 27, 2021, Fulton, 30, surpassed Figueroa, hitting him for a majority decision of 12 rounds in Las Vegas in Super Bantamweight. The fight could have gone in any way, but the judges liked Fulton boxing skills better than the most aggressive and hard blows of Figueroa.
A fulton changed?
Much has changed since then. Fulton has aged visibly, has been knocked out in eight unilateral rounds by Naoya Inoue on July 25, 2023, and barely scraped with a divided decision of 10 rounds over Carlos Castrol in his last fight on September 14, 2024.
Castro dropped Fulton in the fifth round and hurt him repeatedly. He used holding and moving to escape from being knocked out. The judges were generous with Fulton to give him the victory, since Castro seemed that he deserved victory.
Two years before, Castro had been knocked out in the sixth round by Brandon Figueroa on July 9, 2022. The styles make fights, but it does mean something when Fulton is fighting this level of opponent against Castro after a controversial decision after being Brutally beaten by Inoue a year earlier.
Fulton’s knockout defeat against Inoue may have permanently decreased its blow resistance, leaving it vulnerable to being hurt. That is a terrible news for him that faces a type of power like Figueroa, which hits Castro and did not get tired as he did in the second half of the fight on Saturday.
That means that Fulton must remain on his bike all night, holding as much frequency as possible to try to neutralize Figueroa’s offense. It could be a ugly fight because Fulton lacks the offensive skills to remain in his pocket against Figueroa without being knocked out.
I see Figueroa as too strong, young and aggressive for Fulton’s remains in his career. I do not see a knockout because Fulton will use his Mayweather style tricks to survive, but he will not win with that negative and security style. This fight could sleep fans because Fulton will run from the opening bell, trying not to be knocked out.
