Search survivors after passenger jet and chocen helicopter in DC


A extensive search and rescue operation is currently being carried out after an American Airlines flight crashed into the air with a helicopter in Washington DC, with both colliding against the Potomac River.

The head of emergency services, John Donnelly, has said that the conditions are “extremely rough” in the dark and with frost temperatures.

The plane, which came from Wichita, Kansas, had 60 passengers and four crew members. On board the military helicopter there were three American army soldiers.
