Scott Hamilton emotionally responded to the recent Airline aircraft crash This killed 14 young skaters.
“It was stunning,” said Hamilton, 66 years, through tears during Friday 31 January, episode Today show. “It’s beyond the skating community.” So many people see this tragedy and the loss of these brilliant young skaters who poured their lives into building identity in our sport. He added: “Here the community is connected. It is very tight, very tight, very amazing, caring and supporting community. We are not strange tragedy, but this is just above devastation. ”

The young skaters joined parents, coaches and approximately 40 other passengers and four crew members. There was skating in Boston between the victims coaches Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim NaumovWho Hamilton met during the 1994 Olympics.
“When you are in skating, there are no national boundaries,” said Hamilton, who won one Olympic gold medal in sports. “We all have a shared experience and understand what it means to get to this level.” Shishkova and Naumov were amazing champion skaters (who wanted) to build their professional life in America. ”
He continued, “Thinking that they are gone. … I can’t wrap my head around the last 36 hours. It was just devastating. The loss is just beyond the description and my heart is broken. ”
Shishkova and Numov shared their son Maxim, aspirating skater itself, but wasn’t on board the American Airlines flight.
