Stephen Espinoza revealed that the light weight champion of the AMB, Gervonta Davis, wants to fight against the opposition of “higher level” in the future after her defense of the title against Lamont Roach on March 1.
Espinoza says it could be Shakur Stevenson and a rematch with Ryan García, which he would consider “first level.” He did not mention other fighters, such as Keyshawn Davis, William Zepeda, Raymond Muratalla or Andy Cruz.
Stephen is focusing on combatants who are well known by the boxing public and that would move the needle. Ryan García would bring his huge following social networks for a rematch against Gervonta. Espinoza says that the weight would have to decide because Ryan fights with 140.
You probably will not agree with any weight stipulation that Tank would ask after being burned the last time when he foolishly accepted a weight and rehydration clause.
“He doesn’t want to do anything less than the upper level. I think he will insist on a fight like Shakur. Something of that magnitude, ”said Stephen Espinoza to TV ifl On what kind of fight will want Gervonta Davis after defeating Lamont Roach on March 1.
“Maybe it’s Shakur. Maybe it’s a rematch of Ryan García or something. I don’t think we see him in any less than such fights in the future, ”said Espinoza.
Tank Davis will need to prove that he is willing to fight the first level opposition because fans will not take him in his word. He has been fighting the same kind of soft work in his full 12 -year career, and people will not believe that they can change their paths.
Boxing fans have tired of seeing the opposition of Tank Davis Cherry Pick that is not a threat to overcome him.
Although he remained undefeated using that proven and true method, the disadvantage is that he has limited his growth and prevented him from being more popular. Certainly you can continue taking a soft opposition, but it will not bring large numbers of PPV.
