Connecticut Sun Player Dijonai Carrington prompted the fierce reaction when using a Anti-Trump shirt Last weekend, and is now carrying that message even further.
During a press conference before a “unparalleled” league game on Thursday, Carrington declared that it is time for WNBA players to “take measures” in response to President Donald Trump’s Policies.
“We see that some of the policies are already in action and, of course, that means that, like WNBA and be at the forefront of many of these movements, it is time for us to also take measures,” Carrington said.
“It must definitely happen as women, women’s rights, as, now, the LGBTQ rights that are being removed now. They have not yet happened, but definitely in process.”

Carrington wore a shirt that said: “The f-Donald Trump” on Friday while walking towards Wayfair Arena in Miami, Florida.
The player is better known for his interactions with the female basketball phenomenon Caitlin Clark During the Clark Wnba season in 2024.
Carrington gave Clark a purple eye after pushing it during a game between Indiana Fever by Clark and Carrington’s Connecticut Sun in the first round of the playoffs in September. Carrington laughed With the fever teammate, Marina Mabrey, after the incident.

Carrington has said that he did not intentionally pushed Clark in his eyes and that he was not laughing at the incident. However, he illuminated with the controversy on Clark’s purple eye in a live Instagram video in October.
In the video, Carrington and his girlfriend, Nalysa Smith, who plays with Indiana’s fever with Clark, were in her kitchen when Smith pushed Carrington in the eye.
“Ow, you put me in the eye,” Carrington said. Smith apologized and the two laughed.
“Did you do it on purpose?” Carrington asked.

Carrington caused Clark fans before the striking incident with multiple statements by rebuking Clark and his fan base.
