A small plane crashed in a street near the Roosevelt shopping center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Friday night.
A Learjet 55 crashed around 6:30 pm after starting the Northeast of Philadelphia airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The FAA said two people were on board.
The plane was on its way to the Springfield-Benson National Airport in Missouri.
There is still no word about victims that may have been injured on the ground.
A medical oxygen tank was observed on the ground outside a McDonald’s near the accident scene. A police commander told Steve Keeley from Fox 29 that there are “pieces everywhere.”
The city of Philadelphia published in X, calling the “major” incident.
“Incident major near Cottman and Busttelton avenues in the northeast of Philadelphia in front of the Roosevelt Shopping Center,” according to the post. “Closed roads in an area, including parts of Roosevelt Boulevard. Avoid the area.”

The Secretary of the United States Department of Transportation, Sean Duffy, published in X that he is monitoring the accident and addresses FAA to obtain more information.
Governor Josh Shapiro published in X, noting that he has spoken with the mayor of Philadelphia Cherelle L. Parker, and is in communication with the police and fire departments.
“We are offering all the resources of the Commonwealth while responding to the small private plane crash in the northeast of Philadelphia,” Shapiro wrote. “We will continue providing updates as there is more information available.”
The National Transport Security Board (NTSB) leads research and FAA will help.
